2023 RAM 1500 TRX – Dodge began a trend in 2015 when it announced the release of the 707-horsepower Hellcat V8 engine in the Challenger SRT at the time. In the following years, Dodge has gone on to add this Hellcat to the much-loved Charger four-door muscle car as well as offering broadband versions, as well as the more powerful Redeye models, The Challenger Super Stock and the even more stunning Jailbreak package. Dodge also (briefly) included a Hellcat in the Durango. Another benefit of this massive acceleration was the Jeep and Ram brands. To Jeep, there’s the well-loved Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. In the case of Ram, it’s the revolutionary TRX. Despite the huge popularity of its Hellcat engine, the Fun Police are forcing the 6.2L supercharged V8 from the market. Dodge has to rely on electrification to remain in the Stellantis brand. Stellantis Brand portfolio.
However, this fate could not be in the hands of Ram 1500 TRX. At the very minimum but not right at the moment. According to a conversation that Motor Authority had at the 2022 New York auto show with Ram CEO Mike Koval, the Hellcat truck will remain in operation until 2023.
2023 RAM 1500 TRX Review
Koval assured that he would give a precise and concise answer to the question of whether the dinosaur king could be extinct again following the 2023 modeling year. “No,” was his answer. 2023 is significant as it will be the final season for these Dodge Hellcat twins, as stated by the company’s chief executive Tim Kunskis. Koval said that according to Koval his current plans call for the TRX to continue to exist, not just beyond 2023 but it will be in its current form. Koval has not provided specific reasons for the reason why TRX exists in the absence of Hellcats but it is believed that it’s the only car with a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 engine under the hood up to 2023.
It’s possible for some parts of the RAM TRX are still in use since the regulations for emissions aren’t as stringent as those for pickup trucks. Yet, Koval was coy with the definition of “its current form” meant. It’s possible that this is a desert runner equipped with a speedy move forward with a different engine. If this is true, it could be similar to the design Jeep plans to create to accompany their Grand Cherokee. Even though the Trackhawk is gone, Jeep is planning to develop performance-oriented trims that will not be powered with the powerful V8 engine. The brand is planning to incorporate an exceptionally strong Hurricane I6 twin-turbo engine with electric power that will deliver the same power as a Hellcat. However, it won’t have identical to the Hellcat.

The standard output form of the all-new Hurricane I6 engine produces 420 horsepower and 486 pounds of torque. The higher output version is valued at 500 lb-ft and 510 horsepower. The addition of an electric motor will increase the output of the entire unit to 700 HP. There is also the potential of electrifying the TRX using or without a plug could be an option. But the only way to be sure of absolute certainty is to discover the details of what Ram is working on for Apex. Apex predator.
